National Weather Service meteorologist Patrick Ayd said Bismarck and Mandan can expect light snowfall early in the evening with heavy snowfall beginning between 8 and 10 p.m. In the late evening, winds would pick up from the north and continue into the morning, he said.
Bismarck and Mandan can expect between 5 and 7 inches of snow by Wednesday morning, he said.
"I wouldn't be surprised if we pick up eight inches," he said.
