Red Jacket's Whittaker wins high jump at RIT

Red Jacket's Nolan Whittaker took first place in the high jump with a leap of 5-feet, 6-inches at a Rochester Winter Track League meet at Rochester Institute of Technology on Friday.

Victor's Dylan Iadanza (2:45.39) and Aidan Steiger (2:45.97) took the top two spots in the 1,000-meter run. Teammate George Mertens took second in the 3,200 in 10:16.9 and fellow Blue Devil Ben Mertens won the 600 in 1:29.55.

Marion's Brandon VanderBrook won the 300 in 37.10 and Honeoye's Justin Shaver took second in the shotput with a throw of 43-feet 10.5-inches.

Newark's Kendra Bush won the shotput with a throw of 34-feet,canada goose jackets 10.5 inches and Marcus Whitman's Rebekah Champlin won the 1,500 racewalk in 7:17.1.

Shealyn Doody of Red Jacket took second in the 3,000 in 11:27.42 and Whitman's Audrey Button finished right behind her in 11:31.11.

Canandaigua competed in a different RWTL meet at RIT on Friday.
Kate McCormick won the 1,000 for the Braves with a season-best time of 3:04.74. Her twin sister Meghan McCormick won the 3,000 with a time of 10:37.66.

Christine Lyttle place second in the hurdles, breaking her own Canandaigua school record with a time of 9.0. Zach Klick placed fifth in the hurdles in 8.87, a personal record.
